The second greatest hits package in less then a decade and, apart from the disastrous Van Halen III, released when there hadn't been any new material since the first hits package. All of this to say that this record could have come out eight years ago instead of the single disc retrospective which is far inferior.

It's a shame it didn't, because they get everything right here. With two discs to flesh out the material, there's plenty of room to include just about everything that made the band special. They even pick a few songs from their live album, going with the three songs that were on that release from the David Lee Roth era, yet done by the Hagar led band. Fortunately, the originals of those songs are here as well.

Like the first hits package, this one has three extra, new songs - all done with Hagar. They're all ok. Nothing special, but a lot better than the new songs that were on the Best of, Volume 1.

Nothing here from Van Halen III. I don't think anyone expected there to be.
