Although this came out in many parts of the world back in 1986, right after the tour it represents, it didn't see a release in the U.S. until ten years later. At this point, the double CD Live at Wembley '86 had already been released, so it was easy to see this one as a bit redundant. After all, there are no new songs since it's from the same tour. It's almost as if this is a "one CD" version with the other being a "two CD version". And depending on how much of a Queen fanatic you are, would influence which of these two you would buy.

Upon closer examination, though, there are a couple of key distinctions. One, this is not from one show, yet a collection of performances. I'm guessing, also, that the venues were somewhat smaller than Wembley Stadium, so the overall sound comes across as a bit more intimate. Then, to be brutally honest, they really did pick the best of the best when they selected the songs here. There are a couple of omissions that I wish they would have included, but overall, this is a nice chunk of a great tour.

Personally, I'm torn. I always want entire shows when I buy live recordings, but I find myself listening to this one more often since it isn't bogged down by all the between songs chatter and some obvious filler. Die hard fans probably own both anyway, but I actually slightly prefer this one to the mammoth Live at Wembley '86.
