I confess that I don't anything about this "tour" that supposed took place in 2000. From the sound of things, it seems like Mellencamp could have easily played in the back of a pickup truck with a few other musicians (acoustic) and played in random neighborhoods. He proudly shouts out to the crowd near the beginning: "We ain't promotin' nuthin, and we ain't sellin' nothin!". Not sure anyone really cares, but I guess it's one more attempt for Mellencamp to "stick it to" the greedy music executives.

The music here sounds quite good. It's mostly covers with a few originals scattered in the set. Even though John Mellencamp's career has evolved into unpredictability, he sounds like he's doing what he likes, and the mass majority of the fans in attendance seemed to be happy with what he had to offer.
