It's Bruce Springsteen. It's live. It's from 1975.
Need anyone say anything more? Great performance (as of this writing,
I confess I have not seen the video). The crowd in London, although different
from an American audience, is extremely
appreciative, and they obviously are in love with him before he steps
onto the stage.
It's a bit odd since English audiences are "quiet" in between songs and
during those dramatic "pauses" in the middle of some of the tunes. Even
Bruce himself sounds like he's not sure what to do with himself when you
can literally hear a pin drop. He even tries, a bit unsuccessfully to
get the crowd "into it". "How are things goin' in England?" he
enthusiastically asks the crowd. When they give a bit of a laconic
response, he sort of laughs the whole thing off.
Especially rewarding is the jam induced Kitty's Back and
Detroit Medley that was a big part of his set for many years.
