An excellent box set of the band's CBS/Columbia years. It probably was released to capitalize on the bands resurgence during the late 1980s. This is really for a true fan, not a casual admirer. Lot's of live material, rareties, even solo stuff in addition to the hits. Someone who is not a devout follower may be disappointed, for example, that the live version of Lord of the Thighs is here as opposed to the original (even though the live version here does kick ass). There are a lot of instances like that on this compilation

Of course, the third disc is from the "bad times" of the band's troubled history, but it's presented in a way that makes it o.k. for the most part. A great "package" as well.

Worth the hefty price.
